Georgia-Tennessee postgame recap: Dawgs dominate second half in Knoxville

Ok, so that wasn’t so bad, was it? Let’s recap, for those of you who might have missed it.

No. 3 Georgia (5-0, 2-0) took down Tennessee (1-4, 0-2) 43-14 in Knoxville on Saturday night.

Georgia jumped out to an early 7-0 lead thanks to D’Andre Swift. Then, the Vols dominated for about 10 minutes of game clock, going up 14-10 on the Dawgs. However, Georgia would slowly claw its way back in front, with a Blankenship field goal and a pair of touchdowns before the half ended.

Then, the second half came and it was all Dawgs. Though it took a while for Georgia to truly pull away, the Bulldogs were in full control on Rocky Top coming out of the locker room.

Rodrigo Blankenship had the lone points of the third quarter with a 27-yard field goal, before Herrien’s 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth and Tae Crowder’s 60-yard scoop and score.

Jake Fromm went 24/29 on the night, with 2 touchdown passes and a 188.9 QB rating.

Georgia improves to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the SEC, while Tennessee falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the SEC.

Up next for the Bulldogs is a noon kick against South Carolina in Athens on October 12th. As for the Volunteers, it’s back to Neyland for a date with Mississippi State.
