Georgia Tech basketball receives damaging postseason ban

The Georgia Tech basketball program has been put on four years of probation, with at least one year in postseason bans.

The Yellow Jackets will not be able to compete in the ACC Tournament, the NCAA Tournament, or even the NIT for the 2019-2020 season.

Of course, Tech only had a realistic chance at one of those three tournaments, since everyone in the conference makes the ACC.

However, these sanctions will include four years probation, fine of 2% of the basketball budget, loss of one scholarship for four years, eight week ban on unofficial visits and recruiting communications, reduction of three official visits, and a loss of 19 recruiting days.

Time will tell if head coach Josh Pastner, who has not beaten the Bulldogs, will in fact keep his job. Pastner is 48-53 at Tech, with a .475 record in the past three seasons.

We will update this story once we know more.
