Georgia still in the hunt for these top recruits

With the nation’s No.2 recruiting class secured, the Georgia Bulldogs have their sites on the top spot for 2019 with several highly-ranked recruits looking to make a decision today.

The Dawgs got off to a great start with the signing of five-star wide receiver George Pickens, who flipped from Auburn. Pickens (Hoover High, Hoover, AL), is a major talent and will add much needed size to the receiving corps. With Pickens’ signing, UGA has one or possibly two spots open in the 2019 class.

Defensive back Kaiir Elam (Benjamin School, North Palm Beach, FL), is the 48th-ranked prospect nationally and the 6th-best cornerback prospect in the Class of 2019. At 6-foot-1, he possesses excellent size for the position and would give the Bulldogs three solid cornerbacks in the class, along with Tyrique Stevenson and D.J. Daniel. Georgia is battling Florida for Elam’s commitment.

DeMatha Catholic (Hyattsville, MD) defensive back Nick Cross is the No. 55 prospect in the Class of 2019 and the No. 1 player from the state of Maryland. The four-safety is currently committed to Florida State but the Bulldogs remain in the picture.

Four-star wideout Jonathan Mingo from Brandon, Mississippi is currently committed to Ole Miss but took his final official visit to Athens last weekend. With the signing of Pickens today, Mingo may not be in the picture for the Dawgs any longer.

Clearwater Central Catholic (Clearwater, FL) tight end Brett Seither is a three-star prospect The 6-foot-5, 230 pound athlete is considering Georgia, TCU and Maryland.

Georgia has 14 signees already enrolled in Athens, eight who have signed their letter of intents and one athlete, George Pickens, who committed this morning.
