What’s Going To Happen
Georgia State kept is all going after the win over Tennessee with a shootout victory over a decent Furman team. The Panthers are generating a nice pass rush, they’re not turning the ball over enough to matter, and the offense is moving the chains by converting seemingly every third down try.
Western Michigan is better than this. It couldn’t do anything against the Michigan State offense last week in a blowout loss, but the O was able to put up 17 on a defense that’s not giving up a thing so far.
This is the moment to see whether or not the Broncos are going to be real, live players once MAC play starts in a few weeks. Georgia State is good, but it’s the type of game WMU has to take down.
The problem? The WMU defense can’t get off the field. It’s dead last in America in third down stops, and Georgia State’s offense is converting everything.
This is a confident, productive Panther team that’s getting better line play than WMU is. But at home, the Broncos will finally look the part with a good all-around game to survive a fight.
