What’s Going To Happen
Now we get to see just how real Georgia Southern is.
It’s had more than a week to bask in the glow of the win over Appalachian State, and it has the the Sun Belt title there for the taking by winning out. First, it’s dealing with a Troy team that desperately needs a win.
The Trojans have to win three of their last four games to get bowl eligible, but they still have to go to Louisiana and deal with Appalachian State.
The Troy defense hasn’t gone bye-bye, the solid offense hasn’t been able to keep up the pace, and it’s been a wildly disappointing run. However, the run defense isn’t all that bad, the line – for all of its problems – is great at getting into the backfield, and it just might have the ability to slow down the Eagle rushing machine.
Good passing teams are killing the Trojans, and that’s not Georgia Southern.
This won’t be a total wipeout from the Eagles, but they’ll methodically get the O going in the second half to take over the tempo. Troy, though, will keep up the pace through the air.
Just when it seems like the Trojans have a shot to pull off the upset, Georgia Southern will go on one late scoring march to survive.
