Georgia, SEC rivals make elite DE’s top five

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs landed in the top-five for Donell Harris, a 2020 Defensive End. Harris was originally a Miami commit, but de-committed two weeks ago and reclassified from the 2021 class to the 2020 class. Harris announced his top-five on Twitter yesterday:

Harris would be an excellent addition to the Georgia defensive line and the class of 2020. At 6’6″ and 205 lbs, he needs to add some bulk to his frame before he’s ready to compete at a high level in the SEC.

Georgia is working on recruiting better defensive line talent. The Bulldogs have an excellent stable of offensive linemen for now and the future, but need to secure more elite play and depth from the defensive side of the trenches.

Harris hails from the famous Booker T. Washington High School in Miami. With no Florida schools included in his top five, a major recruiting trend is continuing. In recent seasons, Florida schools have struggles to retain elite in-state talent. Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson have been the main schools reaping the benefits from the recruiting struggles of Miami, Florida State, and Florida.
