Georgia’s Jake Fromm finishes as SEC’s 3rd highest graded QB

The Georgia Bulldogs finished the SEC with another 11-1 regular season and a third consecutive SEC Championship. Bulldog fans now have massive expectations and Jake Fromm is a victim of his own success.

Fromm is three out of three in making the SEC Championship Game. Before Fromm, Georgia played in three SEC Championships in the past thirteen seasons. That’s an accomplishment for both Fromm and Kirby Smart.

Yes, Georgia has to get over the big hump, but much of Georgia’s lack of big-game success can be attributed to poor luck. Georgia would have a National Championship under Fromm if it weren’t for a butchered off-sides call and numerous miraculous plays.

Jake Fromm finished the season as the SEC’s third highest graded QB, per PFF, in what was a successful 2019 season:

Fromm played almost error-free football outside of UGA’s two defeats. Fromm didn’t return any of his leading receivers and lost several others to injuries and suspensions. Georgia fans should want Fromm back. We’re spoiled by his consistency and ability to take care of the football.

Fromm simply didn’t have the weapons like Joe Burrow or Tua Tagovailoa this season. His NFL decision will come following his Sugar Bowl victory against the Baylor Bears. He’ll still be sought after. Probably not like he would’ve been before the season, but he’s Day Two NFL Draft prospect and may start right away in the NFL.
