Georgia’s Cordy Glenn changing positions for the Bengals

Former Georgia Bulldog offensive tackle Cordy Glenn is changing positions for the Cincinnati Bengals in what is a surprising move. The Bengals traded for Glenn during the 2018 off-season. Glenn has previously been successful as a left tackle for the Buffalo Bills, but is now reportedly moving to left guard. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport described the Bengals’ tackle situation.

The Bengals selected Jonah Williams with the 11th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Williams played LT at Alabama and had a largely successful season before the championship game vs. Clemson.

Williams lacks the proven NFL track record of Cordy Glenn, who at least deserves a chance at the starting left tackle role. Williams will have the potential to make a lot more money as an NFL left tackle, but will face immediate pressure to perform.

Glenn will man the interior with fellow Georgia Bulldog OL Clint Boling. The Bengals will play the Patriots this season in a game that may feature the most Georgia players in any NFL game ever.
