Georgia RT Isaiah Wilson returns to practice

Redshirt sophomore right tackle Isaiah Wilson returned to practice on Monday after suffering a sprained left ankle in week 2.  Wilson got in for a few minutes in blocking drills but never went in full-speed.

Head coach Kirby Smart said he will have to wait and see how Wilson does this week in practice to determine whether he will suit up for Saturday’s primetime matchup against Notre Dame.

Sophomore right guard Cade Mays has been filling in for the injured Wilson at right tackle while sophomore Jamaree Salyer has replaced Mays’ spot at guard.

Having Wilson this Saturday would be huge for the Bulldogs, as Notre Dame brings back four senior defensive ends who’s forte is the pass rush.  The Irish tallied a total of 9 tackles for a loss this past Saturday in a 66 – 14 win over New Mexico. Although it’d be ideal to have him back, both Mays and Salyer were 5-star prospects coming out of high school and know how to block well.

Senior wide reciever Tyler Simmons was also spotted at the Dawgs practice Monday.  Simmons injured his shoulder in the Arkansas State game and did not return but seems to be ready to go for Saturday. Wide receiver Demetris Robertson (hamstring) and cornerback Tyson Campbell (foot) both were absent at practice.

Saturday’s top-10 should be one to remember, and Bulldog fans will be praying for the speedy return of Isaiah Wilson.
