Former Georgia Bulldog Nick Chubb leads the NFL in average yards after contact. Chubb has been a dynamic back for the Cleveland Browns. He’s having an elite second season in Cleveland. Through seven games he has 738 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Even though the Browns are 2-5, Chubb is playing some of his best football. He struggled with ball security last week at New England, but so has everybody else who’s faced the elite Patriot’s defense.
After this week, Kareem Hunt will be eligible to play for the Browns. It will be interesting to see how Cleveland splits carries between Chubb and Hunt. Chubb has been on another level from the rest of the NFL when it comes to yards after contact per carry:
With over four yards per carry of Chubb’s yardage coming after contact, Chubb is doing a lot of the work on his own. Chubb is rarely mentioned among the best running backs in the NFL, but it’s time for him to be in that conversation.
