Georgia RB James Cook declares for NFL, pens letter to DawgNation

Georgia senior running back James Cook has decided to forgo the extra COVID year of eligibility and has declared for the NFL draft this Spring.

The decision comes after Cook’s most productive season of his career as a Georgia Bulldog, in which he helped lead the Dawgs to their first national title in 41 years.

To thank DawgNation, Cook penned this letter to the University of Georgia family:

In 2021, Cook racked up 113 attempts for 728 yards rushing (6.4 avg.) with seven touchdowns, while adding 27 receptions for 284 yards and four touchdowns, all career-highs.

The Miami, Fla., native’s third-quarter National Championship run will go down in Georgia history:

The Bulldogs’ running back room is still waiting on NFL decisions from junior Zamir White and junior Kenny McIntosh, but will return sophomores Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards.
