Georgia opens as big favorite over Notre Dame

On Saturday night, No. 3 Georgia (3-0) will host No. 7 Notre Dame (2-0) in Sanford Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET and the game will air on CBS.

The game is six days away, but right now the Bulldogs are viewed as a 14 point favorite over the Fighting Irish.

This will be the first time that Notre Dame is a two touchdown underdog since it played Southern Cal in 2016.

As a double-digit favorite, Kirby Smart is 27-2 straight up during his tenure in Athens, with the two losses coming to Vanderbilt in 2016 and Texas in last year’s Sugar Bowl.

With College GameDay coming to town and this being considered Georgia’s biggest home game maybe ever, expect the home-field advantage to be a huge factor this Saturday night. The Irish have not had as intimidating of a road venue since Texas in 2016, and even that did not compare to what the world will see from DawgNation this weekend.

Georgia and Notre Dame have met twice in the history of the two storied programs. The most recent contest was in 2017. Georgia won the thriller 20-19.
