Georgia offers Garrett Nussmeier, son of former Alabama, Florida OC Doug Nussmeier

On Friday, quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, the son of former Florida and Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier, announced on Twitter that he has received a scholarship offer from Georgia.

Nussmeier is rated as a three-star quarterback in the class of 2021 out of Flower Mound, Texas. Georgia’s offer comes after Nussmeier recently attended UGA for a camp, and the Bulldogs join the likes of LSU, Missouri, South Carolina and Vanderbilt as programs out of the SEC to offer him.

Currently, the elder Nussmeier holds the position of tight end coach for the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to that, he was offensive coordinator at Florida (2015-17), Michigan (2014) and Alabama (2012 and 2013).

During Garrett’s sophomore season in high school, he threw for 1557 yards with 12 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Currently, he ranks as the nation’s 320th overall player and 14th pro-style quarterback.
