Georgia men’s swimming and diving finishes 4th in NCAA Championships

Over the weekend UGA swimming and diving finished fourth in the men’s NCAA Championships, marking the second time in program history that the Bulldogs notched a top-four finish.

Texas took first place, followed by California and Florida

Georgia is the only SEC program to finish top-10 in both the men and women’s NCAA Championships. The UGA women’s team finished 8th in the women’s championships on March 21.

The Bulldogs finished the men’s meet with 268 points, the second-highest point total in program history behind the third place 1997 team.

Georgia was led by big performances by seniors Dillon Downing, Javier Acevedo and Camden Murphy, all earned All-American honors in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:15.70 on day one.

The Bulldogs closed out the championships with nine All-American honors on the final day, finishing the season with 34 total All-American honors.
