Georgia hazing victim who was tied up and force-fed magic mushrooms demands justice

A teenager left fighting for his life after allegedly being tortured during a 'hazing' incident at a house party has spoken out for the first time.

Trent Lehrkamp, who ended up on a ventilator in hospital, insists "justice will be served".

The 19-year-old, from Georgia, USA, claims he was forced to drink a dangerous amount of alcohol and eat hallucinogenic mushrooms during the spring break bash.

He was also spray-painted from head to foot and dumped outside an A&E soaked in other people's urine.

The party took place in a posh home on Saint Simons Island on March 21.

Trent's condition is now stable but he says it will take a "long time" before he recovers.

It comes as his sister has moved to dispel "awful" rumours about what happened.

He told WSAV: "I’m alive and doing well. Just know it’s going to be a long time for me to get over this, through the trauma, but one day hopefully within the next few months or so, I might be back.”

He then added: "Justice will be served.”

The FBI has joined the investigation in recent days, though no-one has been charged as of yet.

Trent's dad Mark Lehrkamp told police his soft-spoken boy was repeatedly hazed and bullied by a specific group though he continued to hang out with them.

His dad said he has "no other friends".

Footage of the alleged hazing incident was shared on social media.

Hundreds of well-wishers gathered for a vigil last Monday, echoing Trent's calls for justice.

Business Insider reports police are referring to the incident as an assault.

Glynn County Police Department interim chief O’Neal Jackson said everyone related to the incident has been identified.

He added that the investigation remains ongoing, reiterating that there is a no tolerance policy for bullying.

Trent's sister said has spoken out after an online publication published an article claiming an unnamed source said their dad put a lock on the pantry to stop the teen from eating.

Taryn Lehrkamp said the claims weren’t true and told WSAV the rumour is "hurting our family even more than we already are.”

She described the ordeal as "just so awful" before adding that "bad people are making it so much worse.”

She said that Trent "would be the first person to say how much our dad does for us and always has.”
