Georgia Harrison turns phone off for a few days as she grieves ex Jake McLean's death

Georgia Harrison has announced that as she processes her grief for Jake McLean she will be switching off her phone for a few days.

The former TOWIE star, 27, paid tribute to her ex Jake, 33, who tragically died in a car crash in Turkey last weekend.

Georgia was making plans to come and visit the late businessman in Istanbul, with their final texts discussing her coming out to visit him.

Jake is understood to have "lost control" of the vehicle before it "went off a cliff", and his ex-girlfriend Yazmin Oukhellou, 28, was also in the car.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but they were unable to save Jake, while Yazmin was taken to hospital.

Yazmin was told by doctors that she is "very, very lucky" to be alive and is understood to be in stable condition and is recovering in hospital after surgery.

Georgia has shared an emotional tribute to Jake and has now admitted that she needs time away from social media in an attempt to process her grief.

Taking to Instagram, the former Love Islander put a message out on her Story so that her 1.1 million followers would understand her coming absence.

Sharing a black screen with white text across it to her story, Georgia explained the best way to contact her if needed was by speaking directly to her mother.

Georgia wrote: "Turning my phone off for the next few days too try and process everything and avoid being triggered.

"If anyone needs me desperately please call my mum and she will decide if to pass on the message.

"Thank you for your understanding especially if it is business related I just need to process."

In her tribute towards the late Jake, Georgia thanked him for loving her and teaching her to love herself, alongside a range of photos Georgia wrote: "Thankyou for giving me the confidence to love myself, thankyou for always routing for me, thankyou for loving me but most of all thankyou for being my mukka even in my road girl days.

"333 will always be my number for you and the way the world lost you will forever haunt me because it makes no sense rip jake you lit up a room and everyone who met you couldn’t help but love you."

She went on to praise Live Photos as they capture a short clip when a photograph is being taken, explaining that the loss of school friend Cenk Fahri last year had taught her how important it is to capture memories.

Georgia wrote: "One thing I learnt when I lost @cenkfahri is the true power of a Live Photo when someone goes.

"It catches the energy in the moments that even a video doesn't."
