Georgia Gov. Kemp, Florida’s DeSantis place epic bet on today’s game

You can add this bet to the “reasons why college football is better than the NFL” column.

Georgia governor Brian Kemp, who was born in Athens, is a UGA graduate and a die-hard, lifelong Bulldogs fan. So naturally, Kemp understands the significance of today’s Georgia – Florida game.

Things riding on the rivalry game include: A spot in the SEC Championship, bragging rights for another year, basically the entire season and the possibility of having to hunt pythons in the Florida Everglades or feral hogs in South Georgia.

That’s the bet that Kemp made with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over the outcome of today’s game.

Georgia wins: DeSantis comes to track down some feral hogs in South Georgia that have been destroying the farmland.

Florida wins: Kemp makes his way to the Everglades to hunt the pythons that have caused the state so many issues.

“We need the help. We’re making progress. But I’d love to see the Gators win and Governor Kemp come down there,” said DeSantis. “And who knows – you may even end up with a pair of python boots on the end of it.”

Kemp responded:

“I know that wild hog sausage is a lot better than python. So let’s go Dawgs. Hunker down. We gotta get another one in Jacksonville.”

for Kemp’s sake…Go Dawgs.
