Georgia football RB Zamir White has solid showing in debut

Georgia’s 30-6 win at Vanderbilt on Saturday was more than just the first game of the season for running back Zamir White. For White, the game marked his first time ever playing college football, as ACL injuries in both knees have kept him out previously.

White entered Saturday’s game in the first half and had a strong showing, running for 51 yards on five carries.

Head coach Kirby Smart was ecstatic after the game.

“He’s a tremendous kid. I love all our kids and he’s just another one who has been through a tough time,” Smart said after the game. “To see him go out there and have some success, he’s so deserving of that and our medical staff is deserving of a pat on the back for getting him out there because they spent a lot time with him on the mend.”

Let’s hope White continues his progress and becomes a key contributor for the Dawgs down the road.
