Georgia football kicker Rodrigo Blankenship ‘ready to kickoff this last ride’

On Saturday night, Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship will kickoff his final season of his collegiate career.

So far, it’s been an absolutely incredible career for the senior out of Marietta, Georgia (Sprayberry HS). After redshirting his true freshman season in 2015, Hot Rod has been one of college football’s most consistent kickers over the last three years, making clutch kicks and winning Georgia a number of games.

And on Saturday, Blankenship will kickoff his final first game (got that?) as a Bulldog, and assuming Hurricane Dorian does not find its way to Nashville by tomorrow night, expect that kickoff to sail through the end zone for another touchback.

Hot Rod has become a college football fan favorite throughout his college tenure. Dubbed as the kicker who rocks his glasses under a helmet that scarcely comes off his head, he will go down as one of the greatest kickers in the history of Georgia football.

On Friday night, Blankenship took to Instagram to let the DawgNation know that he still has unfinished business in the red and black, and that he’s ready to kick his way to another stellar year.
“Ready to kick off this last ride for the 🔴 and ⚫️. Time to go to work. #RespectTheSpecs#UnfinishedBusiness”
