A course of death has yet to be determined because Georgia was a Christian Scientist and did not seek medical help, her executor John Quilty has claimed.

During her decade spanning career Engel was nominated for a Primetime Emmy award for five times - twice for playing the girlfriend of Ted Baxter; and three times for her role as Pat MacDougall on Everybody Loves Raymond.

Her final screen appearance came in the One Day at a Time reboot on Netflix.

As well as her various TV roles, Engel had acting credits on Broadway.

The actress is survived by her sisters Robin Engel and Penny Lusk.
