Georgia authorities have charged a 25-year-old Coweta County man over an April 2025 incident. At that time, a father called 911 after spotting the man, Austin Sweatman, climbing into his 16-year-old daughter’s window. When they arrived, authorities found Sweatman wearing boxers hiding in the girl’s closet.
Police arrested Sweatman at the scene. Investigators say the girl and Sweatman had been in contact before the break-in and had exchanged explicit photographs. That digital evidence has been seized as part of the criminal case. Authorities believe the prior communications demonstrate that Sweatman did not randomly target the girl’s window. Body cam footage showing Sweatman’s arrest has been released online.

Additionally, court records indicate that Sweatman had an outstanding warrant in Butts County, Georgia, at the time of his April arrest related to a prior criminal trespass and probation revocation matter. Law enforcement officials from both jurisdictions are coordinating to determine how those charges will be addressed.
Sweatman’s court date in Coweta County has not yet been scheduled. Prosecutors are expected to rely heavily on digital evidence, including text exchanges and photographs, in presenting their case. The sheriff’s office urged parents to be mindful of their children’s online activity, noting that cases like this often begin with digital contact before escalating into in-person encounters.
Sweatman’s charges are the second such home invasion in recent days. On September 29, 2025, 23-year-old Miguel Meza of Florida was arrested in Pittsburgh after a mother discovered him passed out in her 13-year-old daughter’s bedroom, reportedly with his pants down. Her daughter was not in the room at the time.
The mother, startled, fired two warning shots into the ceiling. After Meza fled into the porch, four men restrained him and escorted him into a neighboring home. Police went to that home, forced entry after no one responded initially, and found Meza hidden in a closet under blankets. He is facing a felony charge of criminal trespass.
