The Georgia Bulldogs open SEC conference play against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Bulldogs are looking to return to the SEC Championship in Atlanta.
Georgia’s captains for the South Carolina game are defensive tackle Jordan Davis, linebacker Channing Tindall, and wide receiver Kearis Jackson.
All three of Georgia’s captains were with the team in 2019, when the Dawgs lost to South Carolina in a double-overtime defeat. In 2019, the Gamecocks upset a heavily-favored Georgia team in Athens. It is a memory that still haunts numerous players on Georgia’s roster.
The Bulldogs got revenge last season with a 45-16 win. Now, Kirby Smart and former Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp are looking to begin a new home winning streak against South Carolina.

The Georgia-South Carolina game starts at 7 p.m. The kickoff weather is expected to be mild and cloudy with a small chance of rain (15%).
The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs enter the South Carolina game with a 2-0 record. The Dawgs have wins over Clemson (10-3) and UAB (56-7). South Carolina is also 2-0. The Gamecocks opened the season with wins against Eastern Illinois at home (46-0) and at East Carolina (20-17).
The rivalry game will be the SEC opener for both schools.
