Georgia beats out Alabama for 3-star TE Brett Seither

Georgia needed a tight end and Kirby Smart and Todd Hartley secured the services of a top 20 athlete. Clearwater Central Catholic tight end Brett Seither announced his decision to come to Athens this afternoon.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect has been climbing the recruiting charts lately and was coveted by Alabama, TCU, Penn State and others. His decision came down to the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide and his relationship with the Georgia coaching staff and opportunities with the Dawgs sold him.

He is the No. 40 prospect in the Sunshine State and a top 20 tight end nationally. The three-star recruit caught 42 passes for 630 yards and six touchdowns during his senior season.

Rivals now has Georgia with the nation’s No.1 recruiting class while 247 lists the Dawgs at No. 2 slightly behind Alabama.
