Georgia (6-0), is undefeated through its first two series of the 2019 baseball season but has not moved up in D1Baseball’s Top 25 poll since the preseason. After two weeks of play, the Bulldogs remain at No. 9 in the nation with two sweeps under their belts.
Coach Stricklin’s bunch beat the Dayton Flyers in a trio of opening weekend games before pummeling the UMass-Lowell River Hawks three times in week two.
Inclement weather caused the Bulldogs to originally move their game at Kennesaw State last Tuesday to Wednesday but more rain in the forecast canceled the game altogether. Georgia hosts LIU Brooklyn this Tuesday before finally meeting the Owls at Foley Field on Wednesday.
Following the two single-series games in Athens, the Bulldogs travel to Statesboro for a three-game series with Georgia Southern starting on Friday. If all goes well, the Dawgs should be able to climb in next week’s Top 25 poll with five more games under their belt.
