Six more countries have been removed from the mandatory hotel quarantine list, the Health Minister has confirmed.
Stephen Donnelly released a statement on Saturday afternoon, where he revealed that people entering Ireland from Andorra, Georgia, Kuwait, Mongolia, Nigeria and Puerto Rico will no longer need to stay in a designated hotel for 14 days.
Despite their removal, all passengers arriving on Irish shored will need to still produce a negative pre-departure test.
And all travellers from non-designated countries must observe ‘Home Quarantine’.
Mandatory Hotel Quarantine was introduced by the Government in early April as an extra measure in tackling the spread of Covid-19.
Breaking the 14-day hotel quarantine law for people arriving from a number of high-risk countries can result in a €2,000 fine and up to a month in jail.
