Georgia among top seven for in-state 4-star athlete

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top seven teams for four-star LB Len’Neth Whitehead. Whitehead is a hometown recruit from Athens, Georgia. The 6’1″ and 230 lbs. prospect out of Athens Academy is considering quite a few local SEC schools:

Whiteside is projected to play either LB or RB in college. At his size, he would be have to be more of a power back. He has a prototypical build for the linebacker position. RBs taller than six feet are rare in the NFL, with Derrick Henry being a notable exception. Shorter backs are more difficult to find coming out of the backfield and are able to fit through smaller spaces and can change direction quicker.

Whichever side of the ball Whitside ends up on expect him to be a force. The prospective he’ll have from playing both offense and defense will be invaluable, especially in the run-game.

247sports has Whiteside attending UGA in one-hundred percent of the Crystal Ball predictions to this point. Georgia is still looking for its first RB commit in the Class of 2020. Multiple five-star RBs (Kendall Milton and Zachary Evans) are considering Georgia. The 2020 Class features just one LB as well in Mekhail Sherman, a five-star prospect.
