Georgia AD: UGA ‘committed’ to full stadium capacity this fall

University of Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks commented on stadium capacity in a meeting with the athletic board on Thursday.

“We are committed, we are excited, to have full capacity in the fall”

In 2020, Georgia’s Sanford Stadium was held to approximately 25% capacity, following along with many stadiums across the country. Even the annual G-Day spring game was held to around the same number this April.

Several stadiums have already announced that they will hold events at full capacity, including Georgia baseball’s Foley Field.

Just about 75 miles west of Athens, the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park has been hosting games at 100% capacity since the first week of May. Similarly, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Arkansas and Florida have all announced plans for a full house in the fall, along with many NFL teams and other sports leagues alike.

Imagine what a full Sanford Stadium will sound like this fall after a year of unknowns and struggle. DawgNation in Athens will be something to cherish.
