Georges-Kevin Nkoudou posts emotional goodbye message to Spurs fans as he joins Besiktas

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has posted a farewell message to the Tottenham Hotspur fans after his move to Besiktas was completed.

The 24-year-old has signed for the Turkish side in a £5m deal, with Spurs reported to have a 50 per cent sell-on clause as part of the deal.

Nkoudou joined Tottenham in 2016 but has struggled for minutes in a Spurs shirt and after two loan spells, has now left the club permanently for the Turkish Super Lig.

Besiktas had already teased his arrival on their Twitter account and Nkoudou was filmed on Wednesday night arriving at Istanbul Airport.

Now both sides have confirmed the deal and the player posted this message on Thursday morning to fans on his social media accounts.

"Dear Spurs fans, It's now time for me to leave this great club that is Tottenham. Even though our story wasn't the one I hoped for of when I arrived here, I still feel like I learned a lot, as a player and as a man," he wrote.

"I've always tried to give my all for this team and this club, and wish all my teammates & the staff the very best for this season, and the followings.

"Also a big thank you to the fans who had my back and supported me through the times. Big hugs, GK."

Nkoudou has struggled for game time under Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino since signing from Marseille in 2016 and spent loan spells at Burnley and Monaco in recent seasons, both of which he also found minutes hard to come by as he suffered injuries at both clubs.

Nkoudou did appear for Tottenham in their opening match of the Premier League season against Aston Villa, coming off the bench in the final couple of minutes of the match.

However, he was not on the bench for the 2-2 draw at Manchester City and Besiktas have made their move for the wide man.
