Liberia’s president has been forced to work from home after two snakes were found in his office.

George Weah was told to stay away from the Foreign Affairs building which houses his office until it can be fumigated.

The former international football star is expected to return to the office on Monday.

The black snakes were seen briefly emerging from a hole in a wall of the building’s reception area.

Liberia is home to poisonous snakes and officials are taking no chances.

Fumigation of the building to take care of “crawling and creeping things” has already begun, deputy press secretary Smith Toby said.

Mr Weah was FIFA’s 1995 player of the year.

He assumed the presidency of Liberia in January 2018.
