George Russell has been warned to “respect boundaries” when he drives for Mercedes from next season.
The Briton will replace Valtteri Bottas at the Silver Arrows at the beginning of the 2022 campaign and will line up alongside seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
Prior to his arrival, the reigning constructors' champions' team principal insists no driver is bigger than the team and ensured Russell is aware of this.
The Austrian told the Daily Mail : "This is Mercedes. We have no place for the genius jerk. Even a superstar driver has to respect team values.
“I wouldn't hesitate in the future if a driver talked bad about the team or wasn't appropriate, I would first deal with it internally and if that didn't yield results I would take the driver out of the car. On the bench, yes.

"And George Russell is another intelligent young man. He will slot into the team but that doesn't mean he has to hold back when driving. You can't expect a lion in the car and a puppy out of it.
"But there are certain boundaries within the team that must be respected and George knows them very well. Once the lights are green, only the drivers are responsible.”
Wolff had several headaches with Hamilton and Nico Rosberg during their stint as teammates, as the pair had contact on the track and, according to Rosberg, at times they “almost came to blows” off it.
Now he has made it clear that those are boundaries that should not be crossed between Russell and Hamilton.
He continued: "I can't interfere, manage, or remote control them, but one thing is of ultimate importance — don't touch. That's your responsibility. You can race hard, but no contact.
"I've been there before with Nico when it wasn't just a rivalry. There was a lot of animosity and that's not going to happen.
"This is about showing respect for each other and it can be hard because if you race on the same spot on the race track you will eventually come across each other — but there is an integrity we expect that no one is ever bigger than the team.”
Wolff is of the opinion that F1 could see another Senna/Prost moment as the title scrap between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen goes down to the wire.
"If it was to come to the scenario of the last race in Abu Dhabi and they were to be racing each other for the title, whoever is in front is absolutely going to try to do the same as in the Senna-Prost years," Wolff added.
Who will win the drivers' championship this year? Let us know what you think in the comments section.

"What happened in Monza? Verstappen took Lewis out because he was about to overtake and he was quicker. And that is totally understandable.
"If you are racing for the championship and you see it fading away because the other guy is overtaking you, what tool have you got other than the one that makes sure he can't overtake?
"We've seen it with Schumacher and Villeneuve, we saw it with Senna and Prost twice.
"I would never give the instruction to crash into anyone else but if they go to that last race and whoever is in front wins the championship, they will be racing each other, hard."
