George Russell breezes to China F1 sprint pole

George Russell secured pole position for the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race, building on his victory in the season-opening race in Australia.
Mercedes locked out the front row, with Russell finishing 0.289 seconds ahead of his team-mate Kimi Antonelli.
World champion Lando Norris qualified third, 0.621 seconds behind Russell.
Lewis Hamilton will start the sprint race from fourth position, followed by Oscar Piastri in fifth and Charles Leclerc in sixth.
Max Verstappen qualified in eighth place, 1.7 seconds off Russell's pace, having previously voiced his disapproval of the new regulations.
