George R.R. Martin is already waving white flag on Giants

Renowned author George R.R. Martin claims to be a huge fan of the New York Giants, and following a Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, he was certainly acting like it.

After years of less-than-stellar play, Giants fans are beaten down, depressed and generally exhausted with their team. Martin’s post-Week 1 blogging reflected that as you could practically hear the tears hitting his keyboard.

A new season of NFL football has begun, and …

Life is meaningless and full of pain.

The Giants game went more or less as expected. Saquon was incredible as ever, Eli played well, but OBJ was sorely missed and there was no defense. Kid QB looked sharp when the game was over, but not sharp enough to be thrown to the wolves next week. Eli should play.

Who can’t relate to the millionaire who thinks his life is meaningless and full of pain because his favorite team lost a game? Nothing hyperbolic about that at all.

Martin also offered his take on the Jets, but who really cares about that?

When his rant concluded, so did Martin’s expectations for the season. After just one week, he has written the Giants off and is waving the white flag.

“I think another long dark season looms ahead,” the “Game of Thrones” writer said in closing.

We can’t wait to read more of this remarkable insight from Martin as the year moves along.
