A GoFundMe has been launched for the manager of Eurospar in Hartstown who was "violently attacked" moments before knifeman George Nkencho was fatally injured by Gardai.
George Nkencho, 27, was shot during a standoff with Gardai in Manorfields Drive, Clonee, on Wednesday.
Moments before this, gardai responded to reports of a man wielding a knife at the Spar where a shop worker is believed to have suffered a broken nose.
A fundraiser has now been launched for the shop victim, a manager called Wayne, who is described to Dublin Live by a close friend as a "lovely guy".
The GoFundMe says: "Wayne is a manager from our local Eurospar.

"He is one of the nicest people you could meet.
"He was violently attacked while in work. This page has been set up to support Wayne in his recovery and to let him know the whole of Blanchardstown and beyond are behind him."
The page has nearly raised its target of €7,000 after being set up on Friday afternoon.
A close friend of Wayne's told Dublin Live: "I live in the area. He is such a lovely guy and right now he needs to know we are all here to support him".
"I’m sure when he feels up to it, he will talk about what happened in detail."
On Wednesday, unarmed Gardai arrived to the scene of the shop where the suspect threatened the public and officers before they chased him on foot to a house.
The Armed Support Unit later arrived, and were also threatened with the knife. They implemented a "graduated policing response" using "less-than-lethal-forces" including a taser and pepper spray, but were unsuccessful.
Gardai repeatedly ordered the man to drop the knife before using force.
Sources say up to five shots were fired at the man, hitting him at least three times.
