George Kittle, Robbie Gould officially doubtful vs. Seahawks

The 49ers will likely be forced to face life without their star tight end and their kicker when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.

George Kittle and Robbie Gould both didn’t practice again Saturday, and showed up as ‘doubtful’ on the Week 10 status report. Kittle suffered knee and ankle injuries in the team’s Week 9 win over Arizona. Gould sustained a quad injury Tuesday during the team’s bonus practice.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters he was holding out hope Kittle would be able to suit up Monday, but something would have to improve for the tight end between Saturday and Monday for that to happen.

San Francisco will likely lean on tight end Ross Dwelley, who filled in for Kittle when he was out of the game vs. Arizona. Levine Toilolo is the only other tight end on the roster.

Kicker Chase McLaughlin signed with the 49ers early in the week to play if Gould was unable to go.

Here’s the full status report for Monday night:

Doubtful

TE George Kittle (knee, ankle)
K Robbie Gould (quad)

Questionable

OT Mike McGlinchey (knee)
OT Joe Staley (fibula)
RB Raheem Mostert (knee)
CB Ahkello Witherspoon (foot, quadricep)
