George Kittle doesn’t rule out becoming professional wrestler

George Kittle made an appearance Thursday on the “It Doesn’t Matter What Your Podcast Is Called” podcast on the Blue Wire Podcast Network, and didn’t rule out picking up a career in professional wrestling.

The 49ers tight end revealed he’s only been a wrestling fan for a few years, and attended a wrestling show for the first time when Wrestlemania was at Levi’s Stadium in 2015.

“I don’t know,” Kittle said of joining the ranks of pro wrestlers. “I love wrestling and I love being a fan of it but I got to get in the ring one time with Seth Rollins’ wrestling school, like their promotion SCW in Iowa so I got to do a Stone Cold Stunner on somebody in the ring and it was in front of 100-150 people and it was one of the coolest I’ve ever done.”

It wouldn’t be unheard of if Kittle does decide to pursue professional wrestling after his time in the NFL. Former NFL players like Bill Goldberg and Lawrence Taylor made the jump from professional football to the squared circle. Former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has also dabbled in it.

Kittle probably won’t make that jump any time soon though. The Pro Bowl tight end’s club is 3-0 and he’s fully focused on helping the 49ers win a Super Bowl.

“I mean, I definitely have an interest in it,” he said. “But I got to focus on football as of right now.”
