George Kittle, Dee Ford return to practice for 49ers

Thursday’s practice offered a sigh of relief for the 49ers on the injury front. Both tight end George Kittle and defensive end Dee Ford were back in action after missing Wednesday’s session.

Kittle was out Wednesday due to ankle soreness that arose during the team’s divisional round win over the Vikings. He returned as a full participant. Ford was out to nurse the hamstring that kept him out of the final few weeks of the season, and was limited Thursday.

There wasn’t a ton of concern that either player would be out for the NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers, but it’s noteworthy any time players are missing practices ahead of a big game.

It looks like the 49ers will be fully healthy again going into their showdown Sunday at Levi’s Stadium. We’ll find out for certain Friday, but Ford and Kittle’s returns to action indicate they’re on track to play for the NFC championship.

Here’s the full injury report:

Limited participation

DE Dee Ford (quad, hamstring)
LB Kwon Alexander (pectoral)

Full participation

TE George Kittle (ankle)
RB Raheem Mostert (calf)
RB Tevin Coleman (elbow)
