Former MP George Galloway has failed in his bid to get elected to the Scottish Parliament.
Galloway, who stood for the pro-UK “ All for Unity ”, was snubbed by voters in South Scotland after the party only won 5,521 votes.
An SNP source said: "One of the least surprising results in this election is the abject humiliation of George Galloway. His hat had more chance of being elected."
Galloway is a former Labour MP who was expelled amid a row over comments made about the Iraq war.
His latest venture, AfU, was set up to oppose independence and act as a unifying electoral force.
