George Ezra is set to host an intimate gig in Edinburgh as part of the release of his highly anticipated album ‘Gold Rush Kid’ that is due to come out on June 10 2022.
George has announced that he will play an intimate gig on February 28 at the King’s Theatre where he will perform singles from the new album including “Anyone For You” which has been released as a single today.
Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday February 4 via gigsinscotland.com.
George will also be performing in Manchester the night before with another gig scheduled for March 2 in London.
Following the release of Gold Rush Kid, George will play an all-day event at London’s Finsbury Park on July 17 2022.
The shows will be George’s first headline performances since autumn 2019.
Today marks the beginning of the launch for the new album, with the single “Anyone For You” released to the general public for purchase or streaming.
The song is available on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, iTunes and Deezer.
The music video, which is available on YouTube, shows fans reacting to the Gold Rush Kid album for the first time.
The "Shotgun" star’s new single is understood to be a patchwork of lyric ideas found in old notebooks and chance moments shared between musicians in the studio, according to George.
He said: “It’s joyous and infectious, and I can’t help but smile every time I sing it.”
Going through those notebooks, one of the first scribblings that caught his eye was a verse he’d written when he was 23, before even he’d begun work on his second album.
He continued: “Tiger Lily moved to the city, she’d just turned 21, and I said: here’s my number, hit me up, if you’re needing anyone, and then I can be anyone anyone anyone anyone anyone for you…”
