George Ezra fans confused that he doesn't go by his real full name

Fans are shocked to find out that George Ezra doesn't use his full name.

The singer is best known for his hits such as Budapest and Green Green Grass, but many people didn't know that he only uses some of his name.

Going by George Ezra throughout his career, many didn't know that Ezra isn't actually his surname.

The 30-year-old misses off his last name when he performs, with his full name being George Ezra Barnett.

George has had a very impressive career so far, with his debut studio album Wanted on Voyage reaching number one in the UK back in June 2014.

Most recently, he perform at the Isle of Wight Festival alongside many other famous faces.

Speaking backstage at the festival, George opened up about the biggest pinch me moments he has experienced throughout his career.

Talking to Absolute Radio he said: "I think it's an easy question to answer because they are the standout moments. They will be festival performances… I remember really clearly the first time playing at a festival and people (were) singing Budapest along.

"Things like that you can't put a price on them, and you can't then recreate them - there can only be the first time that happens. Everything that happens between now and then is exciting for different reasons, but it's that first record (2014 Wanted on Voyage), I think they're the things that stand out."

He continued: "The firsts keep coming as well because although it may be the first time you play at the Isle of Wight Festival, for instance, it might be the first time you play on a particular stage, and the next time you're back is the first time that you play on a different stage, and they keep rolling in. It’s good."

George then went on to talk about the fact that the bigger the audience, the less nervous he tends to be.

He explained that, as someone who has been to festivals before, he understands that some people "float" through and don't stand and watch for the full set.

George said that he finds it most nerve wracking to perform when he knows someone in the audience.
