George Edmundson sets off Rangers reunion for Derby as Wayne Rooney revels in former Ibrox pair

Rangers loanee George Edmundson is making the most of life at Derby as he bagged the opener for Wayne Rooney's in-form side in their 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

The big defender has made an instant impact at Pride Park as he found the net days after he rejected a pre-match huddle - something that was appreciated by the Ibrox faithful.

And he was joined on the scoresheet by Martyn Waghorn as the Manchester United legend watched on as the Rams moved seven points away from the relegation.

Edmundson coolly finished in the 9th minute as he made his second consecutive after departing Ibrox on a temporary basis.

The 24-year-old was one of the original Covid bad boys as he and Jordan Jones were hit with seven-game bans for breaching protocols.

And he found himself on the outside looking in before Rooney made a move for him before the January window closed.

Edmundson is enjoying life and earning game time as he plays alongside Aberdeen star Graeme Shinnie in a side that has real designs of a top half finish after facing the drop only weeks ago.
