Beaming George Edmundson admits he's in dreamland after his starring role helped fire Rangers into the last 16 of the Europa League.
'The Fridge', as he's become affectionately known, arrived from Oldham Athletic in the summer, but has had to bide his time for a run in the side.
He hadn't made an appearance in the Europa League proper prior to Wednesday, but was given the nod ahead of Niko Katic as Rangers went to Portugal with a lead to defend.
It felt like a watershed performance from the Englishman, who was imperious at the back as Steven Gerrard 's side eliminated Braga with a 1-0 victory on the night.
It was the best night of Edmundson's life as they made it to the last 16, according to the 22-year-old, who says the feeling of European victory is why he came to Ibrox in the first place.
"I thought I did alright," he told BT Sport when asked to assess his own performance.
"It was one of the best days of my life. Nights like this are why I came to a club like this.
"Nights like this are amazing.
"Obviously of late we've been conceding a few goals, so to get a clean sheet and be involved in that is massive for us."
He then hailed Gerrard's decision to show faith in him for such a big occasion, and hopes it can be the start of a sustained run in the side.
He added: "It's a massive game, and for him to throw me in and trust me, especially in the back four, gives me real confidence moving forward.
"Hopefully (I can keep my place in the team).
"Obviously everybody's fighting for places and it's very competitive, but I'm sure whoever the gaffer picks for the next game will get the job done."
