George Clarke shares reason he won't work with Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer

Property guru George Clarke has made his feelings known on fellow TV stars Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsopp in a tell-all interview ahead of his new television series.

The 48-year-old is best known for his involvement in Remarkable Renovations and The Restoration Man, reports The Scottish Sun. He didn't hold back when it came to the discussion about his own television habits.

Ahead of the second series of Remarkable Renovations dropping, George discussed what he gets up to in his spare time, and couldn't help but make a light dig at his fellow property gurus. When asked on the potential of making a property show together, George had this to say.

He stated to Radio Times: "No disrespect to Kevin McCloud, Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer, but that’s the last thing I want to watch when I get home. I won’t even watch my own shows - I know what I’ve filmed and I see snippets when recording voiceovers.

"But I do find myself checking out the Georgian architecture in Bridgerton or the swish New York apartments in Billions." George also added that he tends to binge-watch television, given his own busy schedule making it hard to watch stuff at the time.

He added: "I don’t watch any TV all week because I’m working. So at weekends, I’m always playing catch-up on box-set dramas, usually several at once. I’m about to watch the final series of Peaky Blinders, too.

And despite George being loved nationwide for his helpful property tips, his newest series, Flipping Fast, has left viewers noting some bigger issues. The programme follows six teams of would-be property developers as they compete to see who can make the biggest profit in a year.

Viewers complained that the time frame on the show "just wasn't long enough" to see a big difference. They took to social media to discuss their thoughts.

One Twitter user wrote: "Something hasn’t quite clicked with Flipping Fast. They’ve only done up a couple of houses. It needs to be filmed over a longer period of time, so there’s more jeopardy - and interest for the audience."

Another said: "What's the point of these so-called property experts when all they do is state the bleeding obvious?" And a third wrote: "The filming of Flipping Fast makes no sense whatsoever to me. Unimaginative. Unrealistic. Unwatchable."

Remarkable Renovations featuring George Clark airs on Wednesday, July 6 at 9pm on Channel 4. It is also available for catch up on All 4.
