George Bowie stuck in awkward underpants moment as shop check he hasn't stolen £7 boxers

It's safe to say George Bowie isn't doing too badly for himself. The legendary radio DJ and dance music icon is beloved in Glasgow and across the country.

So we feel secure in assuming Geo had the funds available when he went to a Zara in Brighton for some £7 boxers and later discovered a security tag on them.

Imagine his surprise then, when the staff went away to check CCTV to make sure he hadn't nicked the boxers.

Geo shared the anecdote on Twitter, saying: "Bought a pair of boxer shorts out of Zara in Brighton and they left the tag on them. So I took them back with the receipt and now they're away to check the CCTV. Why does everyone in England think if you're Scottish your a criminal?"

It's left us wondering...is England not familiar with Scotland's national treasure George Bowie?!

Explaining the mishap to Glasgow Live, Geo said: "They technically didn't accuse me of stealing but they didn't believe me when I gave them the receipt and made me stand there for 10 minutes while they checked the CCTV

"The embarrassing thing is everyone now knows where I buy my pants. I used to get them in Asda but everyone thought my Mum had sewn my name on the front. I tried to tell them George was the designer but no-one believed me."

Don't worry Geo - you're still Scottish royalty!
