Geordie Shore stars at St James' to see Newcastle make Wembley as win sparks wild celebrations

Cast members from Geordie Shore were among the lucky fans who got to be at St James' Park on Tuesday night as Newcastle United secured a long awaited return to Wembley.

It has been 24 years since the Magpies played a final at the home of English football, losing out in the 1999 FA Cup to Manchester United and it looks almost certain that this year's Carabao Cup final will be a re-match of the day, with Newcastle booking their place with a 2-1 win over Southampton, thanks to a race from Sean Longstaff and the Reds commanding a comfortable aggregate lad going into their second leg against Nottingham Forest.

The atmosphere around Newcastle city centre built steadily throughout the afternoon and into the evening, with the buzz around St James' at fever pitch as local lad Schak had a moment to remember as he did a DJ set right next to the pitch with just minutes to go until kick off.

Amongst the packed house of supporters who got to sample an epic night under the lights at SJP were Geordie Shore stars Chantelle Connelly and Marty McKenna. The two joined the MTV show together in 2015, with Marty a regular at United matches and Chantelle jumping at the chance to be at a game, after moving ack to Tyneside from Marbella.

Taking to Instagram to post a selfie in the countdown to kick off, Marty declared he was 'Match Ready' describing himself as Slick Rick as he rocked a quiff, while Chantelle filmed herself decked out in a Magpies shirt as she headed to St James', before filming her walk up to the ground.
