Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei reassures fans over her future on the show after 'switch' to TOWIE

Sophie Kasaei has reassured Geordie SHore fans she'll be back on screen later this year with her 'favourite people,' following a rather tense debut on The Only Way is Essex at the weekend.

South Shields star Sophie was in the Geordie Shore cast when the show made its headline-hitting debut on MTV back in the summer of 2011, as she and co-stars like Charlotte Crosby, Gaz Beadle and Vicky Pattison were shot to overnight TV fame. She stayed on the programme for years, with her relationship with now famous DJ Joel Corry playing out screen and then returned as a full time cast member a few years ago before being heavily involved with the Geordie Shore reunion series in 2022.

The future of Geordie Shore was called into question earlier this year, with sources claiming that bosses were ready to pull the plug but filming is now underway on another series, with a change of format which will see cameras follow Sophie and other cast members as they go about their daily lives, rather than all live together in the Geordie Shore house.

Having featured Holly Hagan's nuptials on the show last year, a crew from MTV were at Marnie Simpson's wedding last week and, just days after her cousin's wedding, Sophie was on screen on another show as TOWIE kicked off its new series.

After the two made their relationship official in the run up to Christmas, Sophie has just moved in with TOWIE star Jordan Brook, switching from South Tyneside to Essex. And she appeared alongside her other half in the first episode of the show's new run.

There was some very obvious tension between Jordan and ex and co-star Chloe Brockett, as Sophie spoke out being at the stage in her life when she wants to settle down and have children. And it was when sharing a clip of her TOWIE debut on Instagram that she reassured Geordie Shore fans she wasn't going anywhere.

She wrote; "Really wearing my heart on my sleeve here. You all know what I've been through and it finally feels like it's my time," adding: "Don't worry I'll be on screen more this year with my favourite people doing what we do best."
