Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei celebrates as family open new restaurant in South Shields

Sophie Kasaei celebrated on Monday night as her family launched another restaurant in South Shields.

The Geordie Shore star's family are well known in the town for owning a string of Mambo's restaurants, including Wine and Dine which is often seen on the MTV show and was where the cast gathered to celebrate its fifth birthday back in 2016 and Mambos Express, which became a must for many locals wanting their favourite food delivered during lockdown.

And now they have another sting to their bun with the opening of Bun Bun. A teaser on the Shields restaurant's holding page reads: "Get ready we have something coming that is going to blow you away."

The St Hilda's Place haunt welcomed its first customers on Monday night, including Sophie who spent the night with relatives and stars like Love Island's Rebecca Gormley as diners got their first taste of the menu.

As seen on Sophie's Instagram story, the premises' exterior is lit up in neon pink, with the theme carried on inside with a host of lit up quotes adorning the walls, along with zebra prints, drop lighting and foliage and a very eye catching water feature as you walk in.

As you might guess from its name, there are plenty of burgers on the menu at Bun Bun, as well as an array of other dishes including chicken skewers, fried chicken and haloumi fries.

Sophie featured a number of them on her story as friends and family gathered at Bun Bun, not only to mark its launch, but also to celebrate Sophie's dad, well known local restauranteur Kevin Kasaei's birthday.

For updates on Bun Bun's opening times and menu keep an eye on its Facebook page and its Instagram account - @bunbunrestaurant.
