A planned MMA bout between reality TV stars Scotty T and Stephen Bear has been cancelled.
Geordie Shore star Scotty was due to go toe-to-toe with Ex on the Beach's Stephen at Newcastle Arena on Saturday December 14, as the main event at FAME MMA's show.
But FAME MMA confirmed today that Scotty has pulled out 'due to unforeseen circumstances'. Writing on Facebook, FAME MMA said other fights - including Marty McKenna's showdown with Sam Gowland - will still go ahead at Newcastle Arena on Saturday, with a new main event planned too.
FAME MMA posted: "Due to the nature of this type of event there is always potential for fighters to forfeit for reasons outside of our and their control.
"We sincerely apologise for any disappointment caused. It is important to us to keep fans satisfied but the fighters health and well being must come first in any instance. The event is still going ahead and there will be plenty of MMA full contact combat action.
"We are currently working hard to find another match for fight night & will make an announcement as soon as we have confirmed one."
The promoters are still selling tickets for the event, which also includes a fight between So Solid Crew member Harvey and comedian Dapper Laughs. Chroniclelive has been told ti.
