Geordie Shore's Ricci Guarnaccio lands 'dream' new TV role with Popworld

In a role that is made for a famous party animal and successful DJ, Geordie Shore star Ricci Guarnaccio is the new face of Popworld TV, having teamed up with the famous party bar chain for a 'dream job,' that will take him all over the UK.

Ricci caused quite a stir when he made his entrance on Geordie Shore back in 2012, even getting engaged on the show, before he made a rather fraught exit. He was one of many cast members past and present to come back into the fold last year, for the massive reunion celebration in Newcastle; going onto star in the new series, which saw he and co-stars go on a luxury group holiday to Portugal.

Away from Geordie Shore, Ricci has become recognised as a top DJ and producer, releasing a string of tracks like summer 2022 smash Never Let You Go and getting airplay on Capital.

And now he's getting back in front of the camera, to be the host of Popworld TV, working in cities right across the country to mingle with revellers and sample the atmosphere in the bar that is many people's guilty pleasure, to film episodes that are set to be aired on YouTube

Ricci announced the news on Instagram last month, telling his 240,000 followers: "Hugely excited to announce I’ll be filming my very own show POPTV, travelling all over the uk to film, party and DJ with you all!

After such a successful year in 2022, I’m ecstatic to showcase these events and be bringing the party to you. This being your chance to be the stars in front of the camera and not behind. I’ll be bringing different celebrities to venues whilst holding a variety of party games & I’ll also be having a few of you up to DJ with me!"

Speaking about landing the job to ChronicleLive, Ricci, who has also been filming the new series of Geordie Shore,s aid: "I'm Immensely p roud and excited to be filming my own show Popworld TV and it’s been unreal so far. I’ve already filmed at Derby, Lincoln, Birmingham, Chelmsford, Leeds and Wigan and it’s been insane, especially how much people have wanted to get involved and enjoy being on camera and literally be the stars.

Teasing what's coming next, he added: "I’ve also got two Popworld festivals which I’ll be filming at in August and September in between travelling all over the UK heading to all the other Popworlds.

"I literally can’t wait to release the first episode and show people how much fun they can have with us whilst filming & at Popworld. It’s all about having fun, letting your hair down and having a laugh whilst enjoying your night."
