Geordie Shore's Ricci Guarnaccio boasts fans are naming their babies after him

Geordie Shore star Ricci Guarnaccio took to social media to tell how fans were naming their babies in his honour.

The reality TV star, 32, who hasn't appeared as a permanent cast member since 2014, claimed that despite his absence from the limelight he still inspired multiple expecting mums to be.

"That’s 2 baby’s in a month getting named after myself, very proud.... should see the name Ricci in the most popular names for 2020 letssss goooooo mothers," Ricci wrote to his 715,800 followers.

He then shared a screenshot of a message from a fan, in which they stated he'd inspired their sister's baby name.

Ricci shared a message from a superfan (Twitter)

"Morning Ricci, my sister Abi absolutely loves you, to the point she's naming her baby son after you," the message read.

"It's her birthday on the 23rd June so I was wondering if you'd be able to send her a video msg via Twitter.

"She'd be over the moon. Understand you're a busy man with a busy schedule so if you don't get time no worries. Thanks out Ric xx(sic)".

The superfan's grand gesture comes despite the fact that Ricci hasn't appeared on the show in years.

However, he's since tried his hand at acting, starring in horror movie Boar on the silver screen.

Ricci can be seen playing Oscar in the creature feature that sees an Australian town terrorised by a horrifying killer boar.

He's since admitted he's caught the acting bug, and claimed he'd love to play a part in an Aussie soap.

He said: "I would love to jump into something like Neighbours or Home and Away. I just feel like they’d be really enjoyable to do. Reality TV will always be there, always. I might be doing something in America at the end of this year, and in New Zealand, but I think acting for me at 31/32… so I think for longevity it would be something good to go into."
