Geordie Shore's Holly Hagan says being weighed in front of class at school triggered body issues

Holly Hagan has sparked a massive reaction on Twitter after revealing she believes her body issues stem from being weighed in front of her class at school.

The Geordie Shore star who recently stunned her many social media followers with her incredible 12 week body transformation, took to Twitter earlier this week to post: "I remember in year 3 primary school we were all weighed in front of the whole class and I remember mine being 6 stone. One of the highest. If I try pin point where I started worrying about my weight I would say it was then. Do they still do this in schools?"

Holly's tweet was retweeted 1,700 times and favourited a massive 38,500 times, with fellow celebs and plenty of her followers sharing their experience of the same thing.

Love Island 2016 finalist Olivia Buckland replied: "Omg I remember this wtf! Why did we even do this," and one follower, who is a parent, responded: "Yeah and send a letter home to parents telling them their child is overweight! I fell out with my daughters school a free months back regarding it."

And another fan, who shared the same experience told Holly: "This is also my exact same experience we done this in primary school and mine was the heaviest even over the boys. I was the tallest in the class and had started puberty at age 9 but of course i didnt take any of that into consideration at 10 years old. It devastated me."

Acknowledging the reaction her words had sparked, Holly then posted: "I’m so shocked at the response to this and hearing how it effected (sic) you all.it’s so damaging I don’t see why anyone aside from a doctor is weighing children! Especially in front of the class."

Holly, who is currently on screen in the new series of Geordie Shore spin-off Geordie OGs, is an ambassador for anti-bullying charity Ditch The Label and in the wake of Jesy Nelson's Odd One Out documentary, where the Little Mix star revealed Katie Hopkins comments about left her rock bottom, Holly ranted at her, saying: "You made a girl want to take her own life @KTHopkins you have CHILDREN!!!! Little girls!!! Who might grow up not being a size 6!

"What will you do then? shame them into wanting to end their own lives?

"People like you MUST be held accountable and I will not stop until that happens"
